Designed to raise an alarm when water touches the leak detection cable or spot probes. The unit can be factory configured as a three or four zone system and comes as standard  with an audible warning device, large back lit character display, internal alarm and fault indicator lamps, mute alarm push button, alarm and fault relays for onward signalling, optional battery backup, beacon and SMS text messaging.  The LD4-2V units are supplied with water shutdown valve control, a shutdown valve override system and internal shutdown valve “closed” lamps.

The LD4-2 & LD4-2V have been designed to monitor three or four independent zones in critical areas for water leaks via linier detection cables or spot sensors . Any number of spot sensors or a maximum of 50 metres of linier water detection cable can be connected to each zone.

The unit comes as standard with monitoring for sensor disconnection / damage to any or all of the four zones that includes both the interconnecting as well and water detection cable/ sensor. Any disconnection of any detection cable or sensor from the controller will instigate a “Disconnected” alarm. The LD4-2V systems are provided with individual zone water shutdown valve control or if required, common water shutdown valve control. The LD4-2V is also supplied with internal valve “closed” indication lamps and a shutdown valve override system that can be used to turn on the water whilst waiting for the detection cable to dry out. The unit contains an audible warning device, optional remote beacon or beacon sounder output, Mute push button, and volt free contacts for onward signalling. Unlike other water detection units on the market, the LD range from CMR electrical uses a bi-directional (AC) signal within the sensors.

Using alternating current stops electrolysis which causes the sensors to disintegrate leaving the system unable to detect water. The use of alternating current also allows the sensors to be continually monitored even when submersed in water. This allows the system to self reset after water has been removed for the sensor and no further action to reinstate or reset the system is required from the operator.

The water detection cables for this product are made to order, any length of cables to a maximum of 100m signal and 50 metres of water detection can be manufactured. The signal cable (white above) is used to connect between the alarm panel and the start of the detection cable.

Each zone is provided with a sensitivity potentiometer, this has been provided to allow individual zones to be set to high or low sensitivity, low sensitivity should be used for areas known to experience high humidity or water splashes. The LD4-2 and LD4-2V as standard has a common alarm and common fault relay which can be used for onward signal to a Building Management Systems, telephone dialler or control systems. The unit if required can also be fitted with individual Alarm relays that will advise a BMS system which zone is in alarm.  Unlike other water detection units on the market, the LD range from CMR electrical uses a bi-directional (AC) signal within the sensors. This allows the system to self reset after water has been removed for the sensor and no further action to reinstate or reset the system is required from the operator. Battery backup for up to six hours can be provided, however if requested, longer backup times can be provided.

Beacon for remote indication of an alarm
This 12VDC Flashing beacon can be used to advise of an alarm were noise is an issue such as hospital corridors or noisy environments.

For unmanned areas or to advise maintenance staff of a problem. With the addition of our SMS Text Messaging alert unit, an alarm will also be sent in text form to one or two phones. This unit is usually added where the alarm unit is mounted remote from maintenance staff, or in unmanned areas.

Battery backup
With the addition of battery backup power the alarm system will operate up to 10 hours when the alarm units mains power is turned off or in a power cut. This is recommended for sensitive areas were a UPS and backup generator power is not available.

Water Valves to turn off the water supply when a water leak is detected 230VAC power open, slam shut water valves can be provided from ¼” to 2” BSP sizes. Pipe couplers are also available on request.

Outstations can be provided with a common water leak detected audible and visual indication unit type SCA. This unit being a standard double gang electrical blanking plate, is complete with an audible warning device, alarm lamp and “Mute” push button. The SCA unit can be manufactured in any type or style of double gang blanking plate allowing it to blend in with its surroundings.

Individual zone alarm relays can be provided to give a volt free normally open, closed in alarm contact that operates when the zone goes into alarm. The contacts can be used to onward signal to Building Management Systems or to control individual water valves.
