Reliable Water Leak Detection When Every Second Counts

Water leaks can cause extensive damage before they become visible. The DLD250 Distance to Leak Sensor provides continuous monitoring of specialist water leak detection cable, ensuring leaks are detected at the earliest possible stage.

Unlike traditional point sensors, the DLD250 not only detects water but also identifies the precise distance to the leak. This enables engineers to locate leaks hidden beneath raised floors, inside ceiling voids, around chilled water pipework or within service corridors without lengthy investigations, significantly reducing repair times and disruption.

How the Distance Measuring Water Leak Sensor Works

The Distance Measuring Water Leak Sensor continuously monitors a dedicated water leak detection cable for the presence of water, cable damage or contamination.

When water comes into contact with the sensing cable, the DLD250 immediately calculates the distance from the sensor to the leak and displays the exact location on its alpha-numeric display—for example:

This allows maintenance personnel to go directly to the affected area rather than searching the entire cable route.

The sensor also continuously monitors the condition of the detection cable. If the cable becomes disconnected, damaged or contaminated, diagnostic messages such as Sensor Cable Fault or Cable Length Error are automatically displayed, allowing faults to be identified and corrected quickly.

Once the leak has been repaired or the fault removed, the sensor automatically resets and resumes normal monitoring without requiring manual intervention.
